What to expect from Copyright Camp
Copyright Camp is not your typical conference. It is, however, your typical unconference. Meaning, there is no typical.
What is an unconference?
Have you ever attended a conference and felt like the predetermined schedule of panels and workshops did not fully address the needs of the attendees? An unconference takes a different approach by having the attendees of the event set the schedule and the topics. After the opening plenary there will be a large board with open time slots for any attendee to add any topic they want to facilitate. Then other attendees can see those topics and chart their own path through the day’s sessions.
Why do an unconference?
Simply, so that we can ensure that this event will meet the interests of the greatest number of attendees. We’ve all been at conferences and felt like it only partially addressed our questions. This way, you get to make the conference about your questions. The greater the number of people and the greater the diversity of opinion and knowledge, the richer the discussion will be for everyone! Interest rather than expertise is required.
What does the schedule look life?
Note: Each Group Session will have spaces for up to 3 concurrent conversations.
| 12:45 – 1pm | Mingle with drinks and snacks. |
| 1 – 1:10 | Welcome and overview of the event |
| 1:15 – 2 | Keynote by Jessica Litman |
| 2 – 2:30 | Filling in the Schedule |
| 2:30 – 3:15 | Group Sessions 1 |
| 3:15 – 4 | Group Sessions 2 |
| 4 – 4:45 | Group Sessions 3 |
| 4:45 – 5 | Wrap-up. |
